Gday Aleg It doesn't seem that bad,
If only 19% is no take but comercial is banned altogether in a lot of spots it should be a bit of a win for recreational fishers.

and it's for 5 years initially, so who knows..........Malabar creek is closed off, it's a hot spot for flathead, and they are just legal, so I am looking forward to seeing them in 5 years time! if it opens of course. I think it's turned out to be a bit of a positive in my opinion, the draft maps looked terrible, but now it looks fine, all my usual spots are still open to fish (except Malabar).

Personally slightly dissapppointed with the arm of Durras lake that tucks in behind North Durras being closed but other than that it's a reasonably good outcome for recreational fishos and also it will be reviewed in 5 years. One question - how are they,MPA, going to police these areas particularly in the holiday seasons?

Overall it doesn't seem to bad for the visiting angler anyways as he can select the area to stay and fish. I feel for people who own properties near or within the closed areas.

Re the policing they will need a great deal of man power to control it, as it doesn't work to well down here in Melbourne often people will fish in marine parks, including the pro's??? A few of the locals I spoke to in Bermagui say its a joke as there buying proffesional fishing licences back only to sell them to international netters and allow them access to our fish?

Is this true or are they takling sh1t :?
