Hi all, I know that you have all seen mega pics of Hobies of all types and models, but I just have to show off my new baby Outback that arrived on Friday at around 2.30pm  Ain't it a beauty, all 28 kilos of it :p .
I think that I will name it Barry, as in Barry Cuda
Hopefully I can post some action shots from my first trip report on Sunday when the beast is christened 8). I'm thinking of starting out low key and chasing some whiting in the shallower waters of Geraldton and if the weather is ok I might even venture out to the inshore reefs and see if any Dhufish are lurking in close
Judging by some of the early fishing antics of some site members it doesn't pay to get too adventurous too soon, but damn I'm itching to get out on the briny and into some serious fishing yeeeehaaaahhh
Do you like the shark attracting sand colour of the Hobie :?: Only choice of colours was green and sand, unless I ordered another colour and I wasn't going to wait any longer

Cheers

Cuda :D

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Sweet boat Cuda! Identical to mine  You will love it I am sure. Gee I hope that sand colour isn;t the shark attracting type. I thought that was yellow :?:

Damn I feel sorry for the whiting population up your way with you out on that thing

Thanks for the comments and well wishes fellas and I'm glad that the name has got a laugh or two
In reply to Red's question regarding the cray season, I think that it will start officially in around a week. From what I have heard, the pro's are expecting a good season in close and out wide too, so I may have to take your advice and hitch a ride with a big Westcoaster boat sometime  I will seriously look at fishing near their pots in close - especially when they drop them back in after pulling them, as they stir up the bottom when they hit and the fish seem to be attracted - especially the big Dhuis, or Jewfish as we Sandgropers like to call them. I certainly won't be targetting Whiting all the time unless the weather is U.S. Apparently the Pink Snapper are in close up Kalbarri way at the moment, as well as some Red Emperor, so it may be worth a trip up there soon too. I do think that a shark shield may be a good investment and will check out the relevant links on the site. Tight lines all :D
