Hi Chopper
Goodness, there must be kayak fishermen out there in WA. Surely the GWS can't have scared them all out of the water. I was fishing at Eagle Bay near Margaret River in March this year and I saw a guy fishing from his kayak. There has to be someone out there.....
Cheers

G'day Chopper,
I'm out there most weekends and sometimes during the week(was out there yesterday arvo getting a feed of herring), normally fishing between Hillarys and Ocean Reef . I've got a pair of Cobra Tourers, 1 with a Garmin 240 fish finder and all the fruit and the other bare for the rougher weather (occasionally used by my dad or girlfriend). I've bumped into a half-dozen Yakfishers recently and normally have a chat but I prefer to get out there on my own to relax and fish in peace.
I'm glad no one was with me yesterday, I was wearing a pair of really long shorts I got in Bali and as I straddled my Yak on launch they tore the seams right from the crotch to the belt line. If anyone was watching it would have looked like a prop from the Benny Hill show or something, they just burst apart and I'm sitting there with my tackle hanging out. I kept fishing but when I landed on the beach I had to wrap my lifejacket around my waist and make a hasty retreat to the car for my wetsuit bottoms.

Just bought me a YAK........ X-factor from Shawn at FishYak and saw your posting calling for other Sandgropers. I am new to this sport and would like to team up with someone for safety and company.

I live in Bassendean WA and basically restricted to weekend fishing.

Ive had the YAK in the Swan River twice. First time to try it out and familiarise myself with how it handles and the second I went to the Canning River Bridge and caught two Bream about 25cm....not big but a great first on the YAK and also a first for me on HB lure.

Is anyone ineterested in getting together for a session in the Ocean for another first for me?

HELLO!!!!! HELLO!!!!!!!

I too have wondered the shores of WA looking for another yakker. I too have posted one of these messages looking for WA yakkers. I too live down the road from Hillary's and Ocean Reef.

Jokes aside, I just got here from Canberra a few months ago and have been looking for someone to go out with.

Are you up for a fish this weekend?

Talk soon.

Hey fellas, if you are ever heading up this way - Geraldton and surrounds (including Kalbarri), I will be keen to get out on the water for a fish - mainly on weekends though
Just drop me a PM :)

Cheers

OK guys, you Perth area yakfishers know what to do.... Post a message detailing a get-together of WA yakfishos in your part of the state. Do it some weekend soon (before Christmas) & I'm there! I'm due for a trip to the "big smoke" for a break from the deep south.

Alternatively, any weekend down on the 'Rainbow Coast' you're welcome to join me for a trip on sea, inlet or river.
