Nice work on the review Paul. 8)

I think Wavedance have done a really nice job overall with this kayak, and agree with Gatesy its going to be a popular choice with people new to the sport who are looking for a kayak that offers value for money without sacrificing much in other areas.

How was the speed, did you overtake any Scuppers or Prowlers on your test paddle?

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. Nice one Occy :D

Even the ruddered version should be under 1000 supposedly, or close enough to it. So far 15 have been sold in melb down seaford way.

I asked plenty of times obout the tank well and was told that it was made for an eski to fit. Given the way some of us have made eskis into tackle holders i'll give it a go and bolt some holders onto one or cut down another of my crates i have lying in wait.

:D

occy good to see she measured up to your hopes on the test paddles and will only get better with familiarity of your own boat; will it be called 'cavendish' being bigger than lady finger

Re loading; although bigger I find the swing easier to load on the van than the espri..although both need sidebar

Yeah mate, that suggestion is fact already , as far as i know there is with and without rudder options. He has not settled on the rudder type fully yet, grab line all the way round if wanted, holders , no holders etc etc.

Ive spent quite a bit of time there in the last month or two , did the one you trialled have that stupid deck loop in the well for the paddle.

Sorry guys....just a Q to make sure I am on the right track.

The deck loop you guys are talking about in the 'well'?

Is that the one in the middle of the cockpit in front of the small hatch in the second picture?

Interested to know what you mean buy it being stupid?

I always have my paddle leashed, and a loop centred seems to be the way to go. The Prowler Elite didnt have a centre loop so I had to attach my leash to one of the side loops and found it annoying when paddling as the paddle leash was always in the way and affected my stroke.

Yep that's it Dallas. It's not the best spot as the chord will get in the way when handling gear and fish etc. Better to have it forward on the centre of the cockpit like the Calypso I reckon.
Cheers for clearing that up Occy 8) just wanted to make sure I was on the same page

Yeah , i have my paddle leashed to the left side of the yak as that is where the paddle keeper is. Otherwise as Occy said the lead gets in the way.

The half cords around the side are near the cockpit as that is really the only area the rods and associated paraphernalia will be leashed to, you don't leash something all the way up the front, i can see however an advantage to have em and the reason not to . Some on the forum have taken the grab line off their yaks.

Mitch they are made in Melbourne.

Good to see you have the anchor out Occy. Don't want it to drift away if the tide comes in.
