Had a chance to go crabbing and fishing in one of the estuaries near Port Hedland a few weeks ago. Had a great morning
and then dined on fresh muddies washed down with cold beer.
Came across a huge school of whiting while wading which gave me an hour or so of fun on the eight weight before a couple of 3 foot sharks
turned up and scattered them to parts unknown.Often there would be at least half a dozen whiting competing for the fly and most put on small
aerial displays such as seen in the video once they were hooked.

Kept a dozen around the 27-30 cm mark for dinner that night.

Nice! What sort of fly were you getting them on? I've had success with Morsie's poppers, also tied up a bunch of tiny CI specials in green but haven't had a chance to fish them much yet.

used a small olive clouser stripped as quick as possible if it wasnt already smashed on landing
