Hello.
Has anyone on this forum used the Thule Hullavator lifting system for their Kayaks?
I wish to somehow transport my yak on a mid roof Ford Transit van.( I cannot always get a hold of the wifes car.)
Does this rack system mean the FnD will be on the roof the right way up and not upside down which is the prefered way?
Am I asking too much to get a kayak on top of a Transit Van????
There must be some way of getting the sucker up there??

John

You will load on top of the Transit OK, I use this method to get atop my HiAce
and load both yaks from either side with a side loading bar,

Good system Dodge.
I would still need a small ladder to climb and lift the rear end of the yak up to the top of the roof.
The Transit's are much higher than a Hi Ace van.

I saw one the other day on a standard car at Tuross river. Looked pretty neet and user friendly but for that price I am prepaired to use a little more elbow grease. The canopy of my 4x4 is also a problem and I decided to go for a basket on top and the yak on top of the basket. It gives me the lift above the canopy and serves a double function as in transport the yak as well as extra baggage space.

It's a cool concept - but I can't say that I am much of a fan. But then I use a falcon to get my yaks around..
