I could say they're all waiting around for the gay and lesbian mardi gras but it's more likely the Sydney fish are on a suicide protest this year.

Justin Duggans October report is further proof: http://www.sydneyflyfishing.com.au/news ... 3&startat=[startat]&index_no=1

I mean, how stupid do these fish need to be. Our idiot mates, Ian Macdonald and Bob Debus have gone around and turned most of the East Coast of NSW into one giant marine park Sanctuary zone to protect the species and this is the thanks we get.

In a meeting of the species back at Easter time, the Council of Pelagic Encounterment regrouped and decided to converge on Sydney Harbour in a seven month protest against Marine Parks. In doing so, they decided to run the gauntlet and be the target of up to 1 million dedicated anglers. Forget ANZAC Day, soon people will be wearing Legacy badges commemorate the loss of these brave, protesting pelagics.

While the good folk of Northern NSW and Southern QLD have been twiddling thier thumbs waiting for the supposed Tailor runs, salmon runs, bonito runs, kingfish runs and tuna runs, Sydneysiders have paticipated in SLAUGHTERFEST, a new style of fishing that lets you hit the water in a kayak, boat or off the rocks and cast blindly into boiling water and constantly get nailed by solid fish.

Now, It's not that I'm ungrateful for the intermittent and generally smaller fish catches I had in winter and early spring here in Byron, I just think this mass Sydney pelagic fish protest is a futile exercise. Surely more lives would be saved if they changed thier strategy and pursued their protests a little further North on the safe and legal fringes of declared Sanctuary Zones.

Bugger off Dan

While there are certainly lots of salmon around, still haven't been active enough and the weather good enough on the weekends for this poor fisherman to actually land one. I will be trying again this weekend, weather permitting, but it ain't looking good right now.

At least the fish are here to prove to city voters that they're not endangered. Perhaps the greenies can start advocating for portable marine parks, placing booms around any schools of fish they encounter. This would be consistent with their undeclared aim of stopping fishing altogether so that fish can live undisturbed in their tranquil marine environment, with the gentle thrashing sounds of salmon busting up a bait school overhead and sharks busting up the salmon. How Rousseau!

   DaveyG you idiot I have now come up with the fishing plan for Sydney waters  dont go fishing within 2 days of Gatesy as he has the effect on our fish stocks of scaring the sh*t out of them so they dont touch a bait or lure for 6 days after he has terrorised entire species with his complete domination of the sport. Lucky for us he practices C&R otherwise we would need to find another sport. The last Salmon I caught kept mumbling something about the gatemyster  beware the hobie master.
Gatesy what the f*^k do you do out there man.

 Have I said to much.

Because Peril told me to Bugger off :lol: I pass that bugger off to Gatesey who didn't realise that the 67cm kingfish between his purple legs was actually dressed in drag! That was one helluva Queenie mate!

Gheppsie: Don't get me started on those damn PPB mexicans and thier 2007 snapper sacrifice. Just because you can almost swim in the water down there doesn't mean the fish are edible.

Disclaimer: My Turrum the other day were an anomolie, an irregularity, a freak of Byron! All those fish you're hogging will be back up this way soon. Just make sure you get them suitably fattened up for thier northern journey.

I am not sure if Gatesy is practicing ethical C&R. After traumatising them by wearing a purple wetsuit, he lets them go back to their natural habitat with an unnatural devestating experience fresh in their minds. He should at least give them a referral to some kind of group session rehabiliation. You're in Sydney right? I saw a documentary one time and I am sure it showed some kind of fish therapy group. I can't recall . . . . Does "Nemo" ring a bell?
