Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Congrats on your decision, I reckon thats the one I want at some time in the future, (if there are no super developements in the meantime). My desire for this yak however is entirely unqualified, never seen one in the flesh/plastic, let alone paddled one. They look just so sweet, dont they.

Cheers all Andybear

I wish we would all stop going on about "stink boats". We all enjoy the same sport of fishing. How we get on the water is a personal choice - so long as we practice our sport responsibly and with regard to others.

I have flown and had licenses at various times in hang gliders, paragliders, ultra lights and light aircraft. Each one has it's appeal - and quite often one will be derogatory about the other - epsecially the "purists". Personally I could not be bothered - each sport is different and to be enjoyed on it's own merits.

I agree with Trybard on this one. I own two power boats and am very happy to have them called stink boats. That is what I call them and that is what they are. Power poats have been called stink boats by the sailing fraternaty for decades.

it is my lack of experience that make me feel vunerable when I cop a bit of wake.
Thats exactly what happened to me 2day several times and i nearly capzized one of the times cause of 1 bloke in a 6 knot zone (NO WASH) when he went speeding past me, about 3 meters away!!

I did'nt mean to offend anyone and if i did i'm sorry.

Like Ross I normally refer to powerboats rather than stink boats, having so many mates on the water in all sizes of craft.

The term stink boat is a throw back to having a dig at 'rag and stick' men ie; yachties, so it's a word that doesn't really bother me when used.

What often concerns me on the forum, is the tacit implication that all stink boaters are dickheads and anti kayak in outlook.

Among all aspects of water sport I've mainly struck good blokes as we are on this forum, and it's the lunatic few that seems to have tarnished the opinions of some towards the other boating anglers
