Hi Yakkers

Last week I purchased some SIKAFLEX from Bias boating to mount my transducer. I was fixing a few deck saddles just now and opened the Sikaflex to dab a little sealant and :shock: YUK it's black.

This might sound like a dopey question but can you use that on ya transducer. The bloke in the store recommends it as one of the best for the application of Yak transducers. Inearly sh*t when this blob of black goo came out the tube.

Russ, I've only used the white stuff, but the difference is only dye. No problem for fixing your transducer - sound is colour blind.

I did exactly the same thing, and am pleased to say the result is all good. I must admit, it never even occurred to me that it could exist in black. There are unfortunately, a lot of things that are not occurrng to me these days.

Just thougt I would add that when I worked for Squadron Boats here in Adelaide we glued and filled everything with Sikaflex - Bloody good stuff. I think that in some of the boats it is what holds them together :?

Duncan, i know where you are coming from mate. My second last tinny was like a patchwork quilt it had so many patches on it and we used to call it the SS Sikaflex despite the fact it was obviously a motor vessel not a sailing ship and should have been called MV Sikaflex.
