Sharks: In last Thursday's local paper, which I read after my paddle this morning, it says that there have been some big sharks caught with the 'shark control' equipment on the coast. One of the sharks, a 4 m tiger, was caught at Tanby Point, which is where I (and Scotty Beefs) launch from to get to Ritamada reefs. I usually paddle around the floats marking the drumlines.

The newspaper said people should avoid going close to the floats. Today when I was paddling at Tanby Point I saw heaps of floats, many more than normal. I wondered if there had been more sharks seen on the coast.

I think I need to get a few more wire traces and upgrade my line strength. Never know what I might catch.

They've been going on about it down on the Gold Coast as well lately. Seems the bigger Tigers(and the occasional White) are following the Humpback migration south at the moment. Hopefully they pig out on whale blubber and not my blubber  .

always know that they're out there its just a bit more of a suprise when they catch one off the local beach! Especially on those baits there troppo, would be in fairly shallow water. This maintains my never fish side saddle with feet (bait  ) dangling in the water!

I agree Scotty Beefs. Those shark baits seem too close in to be catchin 4 m Tiger Sharks. Maybe I am paddling too far out as the big ones are close to the shore!

When I wash fish slime and blood off my hands, I do it in the footwells where sharkys can't come and nibble my fingers!

Now that is a surprise! When I saw that Russ had added a post to my topic, I was wondering what I was going to read - I thought probably something funny. However, shock of shocks, is this the first time he has been speechless?

Gosh, Scotty Beefs, look what you have done to poor Russ.

Great humour guys. Very funny!
