Shark Shields

HI Guys,

I have mention of these items recently and once I start heading out into the deeper waters I think I will invest the money.

Just a question though, How do they mount to a Yak?

Blaen, I stick mine down a scupper hole. One of our other users attaches his to his belt. I can bring mine when you get your yak and we hook up for a fish if you like and you can have a suss at it. I went from not thinking I needed one, to seeing a white off Bruny stalking seals when I was paddling with them. It scared the hell out of me and I purchased a shield. The peace of mind it gives me is priceless.

When I target sharks down here such as the resident seven gillers or gummys/schoolies ect I just turn my shield off when the fish is getting close to enable me to release the shark without causing it undue duress. That’s the brilliance of these things. Not only do they protect us but they do not hurt the magnificent apex predators the mighty shark.

Thanks Scott,

Would appreciate having a look at it.

Just got a confirmed delivery date for the Yak of Thursday next week, which is a bummer as I have Wednesday off and am working next weekend :(

But I guess that also means getting into Acnhor for a suit and getting the racks on the Honda
Sounds good Blaen. I have to warn you though, once you fish from a yak, you never go back!
