Hi all,
Not much to report this morning.
Got on the water about 0525, and caught a grinner after about 4 minutes, decided to keep him for bait (another day). At about 0600 had a nice tussle with a pinky, but he came in at just 34cm, 1cm too short to keep. After that it went really quiet. Both fish were caught on my new rapala Nordic Perch. Had troubles with it, being too deep a diver on the reef. I might fiddle with the bib on this one later, far too good not to use.
A nice morning though, weather was kind, lots of jellyfish, and some weed around. I heard one commotion behind the yak, that lasted for about ten seconds, I guess it was some kind of bait boil. I did not actually see any fish, I turned around and paddled back where I thought the action might be, but there was no action.. On this trip, I finally got to use the okuma reel, and 15kg braid that I have taken with me on about six trips now, and not even used. That reel is now tried, but as yet unblooded
Cheers all Andybear
