Headed out at 5 AM this morning hoping to catch another trevor like last week. Spent until 9 am catching and releasing 2 just undersized flatties, 2 bream and a toadfish.
Decided that the 3" minnow wasn't big enough so I switched to a 5" gulp jerk shad, and a squidgy resin head jig. About third cast I was on, called it for a big flattie to start with as it didn't have the blistering run but then I saw silver and knew it was a nice 43 cm trevor.Took me a few goes but soon enough it was in my brand new landing net. (Finally got a net) Took a little while though they are a tough fighting fish and I was only using 4lb line. Didn't get another fish for about two hours when I landed a 42 cm flattie. Decided to end on that note so headed back to ramp.
Pictures show the two fish and the SP that I got them on. The old guy I gave the fish too last week was there so I got hime to take the first photo. He was going out for tea tonight so he didn't want any today.
