Out here in Southern CA, we have a saltwater bass tournament trail. Seven events, each with individual prize $$$. At the end of the year, the tournament directors add up to the weight of your best six events for an overall winner. Next year, this trail will be huge, as sponsorship has been picked up by a big publication... Time to turn in all my pelagic gear for some low profile bait casters.... :shock:

I weighed in 9 bass, culled one, in hopes of getting a BIG one, that never happened. But it was fun to catch fish all morning, and feel like I had a chance. Good seeing everyone, see you all in Newport!

I found a fossil in that general area when I was a kid. I was wandering around the tidepools when a small rectangular piece of sedimentary rock caught my eye. I turned it over and found a perfect fish fossil that was about 3cm long. I thought I was Indiana Jones for the rest of the day. I never found another fossil, but I know that others have been found there.
