Some day folks this Ole Dude is going to catch a fish :( I'm beginning to think that red is not a good fish catching platform - Someone tell me I'm wrong please.

Went out at Seacliff and the wx and the wind and the tide and everything was looking absolutly beautiful. But, skunked again. Tossed out one lure and watched it keep going into the sunset. Might be something wrong with my knotting ability

Decided to go home when a sail boat went by, snagged my lure, and it was all I could do to grab a knife and cut the line before I got spooled.

While floating and flicking I was visited by the Sea Rescue Boat which advised me that there was a lady on the shore very worried about me becoz there was I shark in the water. Can't help but believe that it was the dolphon which had just swam by; did have a look though when I saw the fin cutting thru the water and breathed a sigh of relief when it broached and took a breath :)

It was such a lovely day on the water - just might have to paint the Gator a different color

Hope someone in SA caught a few this weekend.

Cheers

At least you were enjoying the water Duncan. Its amazing how many people can see rods sticking out from a yak at all angles and not think that you might be trolling. I'm beginning to treat all other craft with suspicion.

Dunc you are wrong old timer, hope that helps

Know the frustration when results are slow, but being on the water is the main thing and fish are a bonus so keep on enjoying Gator mate.

Can you fish fresh water in SA, I'm finding thats a lot of fun and might be worth a go and no fins to watch for either

Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. Bad luck Duncan - I didn't do much better at West Lakes on Friday night. I've had the yachties do the same thing at Seacliff whilst I was fishing out of my dingy - they came so close that they took out the float that I was using for garfish. Keep at it mate - the fish are there.
