Now i have a second car i need roof racks. I don't feel the need to spend 300 on a wizz bang set though.

What have you used as racks on your car to hold you pride and joy on securely whilst not having it damaged by the car.

I recently bought these removable strap on racksfor my 93 corolla seca. Have taken P2 out on them once in very high winds on the F3 freeway, where there are lots of High Wind Area signs. Yak moved around a bit, but I hadn't tightened the straps as much as I could or should have. They are high enough so that there is no issue with the FF mount scatching the roof.

It was so much easier putting the yak on the corolla than the MPV. And the missus is happy that I haven't taken her car.

I use these instead of normal roof racks. They are just the Thule foam covers that go around roof racks and a couple of $5 pull tight straps. The foam bars only cost $#12 easch (can you teel I'm drunk from watching the Broncos wiN?) at your local ARB shop.

Peter I was with a mate at the wreckers where he was getting a panel for his wife's car and many wrecks had perfect bars attached to cars with lower damage, and may be worth a look locally
