I am not the forum policeman but I am concerned that by it's forum title Not Kayak Fishing is becoming a surrogate general section on AKFF.

The sub title says 'this is the place to discuss other forms of kayaking and canoeing' but by its main title it is attracting many posts that are not within that subject range, and more applicable for Main 'this is the main discussion forum'.

I was only conscious after looking for an old post recently, and feel it could be sorted before this growing forum winds up with two general areas.

My suggestion for such a change would be Other Kayaking, with the existing subheading.

Although one of the appeals on Akff is our posts going off on unusual homourous tangents when looking for former posts its easier to locate from the correct forum

I always considered the "Not Kayak Fishing" section to be a place for stories / questions etc that were IN NO WAY related to kayaking/fishing. Obviously I've been under the wrong impression.

On the other hand I thought that topics in the MAIN section always had to be related to kayaking/fishing etc.

My understanding was the same as Davey G, although reading the subtitle to NKF it would seem I was wrong.

Guys, the name and the description of that section goes back to the days of the mariner. I consider it the place for off topic posts. In fact I may just go and change its name to off topic so all non yak fishing posts can go in there to make searches easier in the future. One thing to remember though, we auto crop every post older than 6 months these days to keep the forum database at a realistic size. The exceptions to this are the forum help and classifieds which are auto cropped more frequently and the catch of the day, the hall of fame, google fishing marks and the fishing comp sections which aren't cropped at all.
