I've been taking my new predator out here at the Pine River over the last couple of weekends and I have to tell you that initially buying a kayak was an excuse to get out fishing but I realised something. This yak rides so nice that fishing is just an excuse to get out for a paddle.
I have managed a couple of catches (slow here too) but that was in between the paddling.
On the calm stuff upstream she cruises just nicely and doesn't take much to manouver around. Only thing is when you are drift fishing the wind can catch you anc spin you away from the direction you want to face.
On the choppy stuff, as you get out towards Moreton Bay (Slightly east from Hornibrook Bridge where there was some good winds lately), the predator handled it reasonably well. Sliced through the chop without losing too much momentum and the rudder sure does help with keeping track when fighting the breeze.
I reckon I would've paddled 20k's over this last weekend just enjoying my new ride. I would love to see how it compares to the ride of the Prowler's/Elite and the Adventurer.
