Hey Folks,

I just got a shark shield, and as per the instructions I have been charging it and discharging it in salt water in the bath. I've charged it twice, and discharged it once. It's currently sitting in the bath, going through its second discharge. The thing that gets me is this. I got the freedom 4 model, which is meant to get 4 hours out of a charge. Its been in the bath for 12 hours, and the green light is still blinking. The first discharge took over 8 hours. Have I done something wrong, or have others found that the freedom 4 is more like a freedom 12?

Thanks a million,
Robbie

Mate, I would get between four to five hours whilst in use. Apparently warmer water prolongs the battery life a little bit. If you stick your hand on the antenna while underwater do you get a small shock? (Do this after you think the battery should be discharged). If you still get your shock then it is working as it should. If you don't then you red warning light function may not be working as it should.

Thanks for that Scott,

I think I worked it out. It is working as it should, it's just that the water I have in the bath isn't salty enough. It says that it should pulse every half second in salt water, and when not in salt water it pulses every five seconds. It's pulsing every five seconds at the moment, so I guess it's lasting so long because of that. I'm still getting a little shock though. I'll check it out in the salt water properly this weekend and report back.

Thanks again,
Robbie
