For those of you with Prowler Elites, have any of you been able to get hold of any of the accessories as yet?? I'm specifically talking about the transducer plug/bolt and fishfinder mount? It seems as though these aren't even in the country as yet???

If anyone has located these, can you advise where from and how much $$?

Also does anyone know whether any sounder will fit the recess or does it have to be specifically one of the Humminbirds? Any particular models that are recommended?

As I'm thinking of upgrading to an Elite shortly I'm keen to find out how others have set up their fishfinders and whether the'yve had any success/problems in getting these 'factory' accessories.

Thanks in anticipation.

gatesy. I contacted my local dealer and she advised that it would be at least a month before she had any idea regarding the accessories. Seems a bit wierd as the fishfinder setup is one of the main selling points of the yak. I would have thought that the acessories (transducer boot/FF mounting plate etc) would have been available at the same time as the yak but that doesnt seem to be the case.

I'm hoping to drop into Canoe Sports in the next week so I'll also ask there.

In the meantime, if anyone else has already set up their FF's on the elite I'd love to know how you did it.

Thanks

Davey,

I've got some of the accessories on my one. With particualr note on the transducer / FF. At the time I got mine they were only making the plugs for the hummingbird units. I already had an eagle (lowrance) 240 with the standard lowrance skimmer transducer. It doesn't fit the plug they made however I took to it with my router with file attachment and after quiet a bit of "after market" additions it fitted in. It did take a far bit of work and a steady heand was required. I'm not sure if they are making plugs for the other transducer models but if you want an answer then I'd email the team at OK in NZ where they are made. I'll also ask when I'm next in there (our club has its meetings there in a week or so). Now I've got mine set up its a great way to have it mounted and I get great sensitivity and picture from it.

The other accessories should be avaliable as well at least in NZ. I've seen in NZ the full range of accessories in a few shops. If you wanted anything specific I'm sure the cost of posting across the tasman won't be much. You could get them from jackie at go kayak here in NZ http://www.gokayak.co.nz.

As the pricing goes I can't remember but I'm sure jackie could tell you if you emailed her. I can remember not falling over when looking at the price tags so I think they are reasonable.

I'll take a pic of the "aftermarket" changes so you see the extent.
regards
