Poddy and I hit Portarlington at dawn's crack this morning, hoping to repeat his snapper success of a few weeks ago. Poddy trolled away into the distance, while I worked plastics in closer, alternating a squid jig and garfish rig on the second rod. The water dropped away to 10m+ quite quickly not far from shore. It was very quiet, with only the occasional flathead breaking the tranquility of a gorgeous morning on the water. One small flathead which I released took up residence in my sea anchor for over an hour (see pic below). 11 o'clock came and we decided to call it quits, enjoying a paddlers breakfast of pies, sausage rolls and custard tarts at the bakery

then grabbing a few kilos of mussels each from the lady at the co-op. Thanks for an enjoyable morning on new water Rob (new for me anyway)
Happy days! I've finally moved into the digital age, attached are a few pics from this morning, taken with my new Pentax OptioM20
