gday fellas and fellarettes does anyone know where i can get a portable fishfinder i saw hummingbird have a remote model that fits onto your rod and another that is like a watch both have an infared transducer and run on AA batteries saw them on the net but have not seen them in stores

Al, some of the marine outlets might have them..... I did see one down tassie way which is no help to you i know but I have seen them at fishing/camping shows too. The hassle with a small screen like those is when you paddle they can be difficult to focus on but If you are only after depth and fish symbols when you stop they might be suitable. I think you can get the bigger screens too..... but i may be wrong.

The current issue of QFM. has them on sale at a few locations in Brisbane, $199.00.
I spoke to a bloke I know that works in the industry and he said there has been some problems with them. That's all I know.
