Hi guys,

I bought a second hand Lowrance X87 sounder the other day.
I intend to use this one on several boats and wanted to see if it worked properly before doing some more refined transducer mounting.

These are a brilliant piece of kit. By far the most sophisticated digital sounder I have ever used with great pixel count and lots of capabilities. i am still learning how to use it.

Anyway, I knocked up a very quick & easy mounting bracket to hand the transducer over the stern and the whole thing is held in place with a spring clamp.

Just thought it might give somebody a few ideas.

Seeing as you make the canoes yourself have you ever thought of making a check out, perhaps in the rear before the dead rise to hide the transducer from snags.

That transducer mount is only a temporary fit just to see if the thing worked. .

I am half way through buildting a hull shoot through set up just now. (similat set up to Ross's (Meoldchina)
