Has anyone tried installing a piranha transducer inside a hull? The sounder displays the message "transducer not connected" unless the transducer sits in water for a while(about ten minutes). Once it's been wet it works fine. Don't know how it will work if it's not submerged.

JD sounds like you might have an electrical short there as even when they are high and dry they still read as "transducer connected". Pay to check your connections, give them a clean and use a spot of Vaseline (on the connections)
