Nic if you find a school again jig small silver wonder wobblers [or similar] and they go beserk without damaging your SPs.

We had a big run of pike and wolf herring (ribbon fish) up here in CQ a while back and the action was seriously non-stop. If I had had my wits about me I would have collected more of them for bait as well. My brother and I would have caught a serious number of fish over the two days we went out, they just nailed anything. Didn't try pink SPs though :wink:

Careful though about how many you take Nic - fishing god Karma is still catching up with me. After those two trips I think I have been out 5 more times for a grand total of 2 fish :?

Yes, karma is important. I remember my first ever venture with SP's and I hit a school of pike. I gave up after 8 casts and 8 fish thinking something was illegal because it was all too easy I spentthe next 2-years trying to find that school again!

I am led to believe that pike are a sh*t hot Jew bait ?

Using a heavier lure to get below the 'cuda is the ticket to a chance at a WSB.

Also, when the schools of 'cuda show up here, the threshers are right behind. 'Cuda are great thresher-bait.

Well, I've seen it all now. This morning I watched a guy pulled 50 pike from the spot I was at yesterday. Question, is what the hell do you need 50 pike for?

That was answered as well. He cut the tails off and threw them in the water. He then used the heads on ganged hooks. The tide was dead low, so not sure what he was expecting.

Be interesting to find out what is following the pike around. Probably something big and toothy. On second thoughts, I think it would not be so interesting.

Nic, did he remove the backbone as well? A butterfly presentation is very inviting to many big fish, including jews.

50 is unpardonable though. Even unregulated fish in NSW have a limit of 20, unless specifically excluded from any limit.
