Shane,

PFD's are definately a personal thing. I have an MTI reflex II,:

very comfy,
good room in the arms so it doesn't hamper padling or throwing lures, several straps makes adjsutment easy, two good pockets at the front &
the botttom of the back is cut up so it doesn't interfere with my backrest

$89

Shane, Anaconda have a good range of PFD2 brands in their kayak section.

I use a Perfection Freedom size XL [over 60kgs].

Whitworths are a favorite store of mine but feel their range isn't as good for yakking, you need huge arm holes for freedom and also because of the hot climate up here.

If you PM your weight I'll call in through the week and check out models and prices that are suitable and PM back to you

There is a post or two somewhere hidden on the forum about pfds. Well worthwhile doing a search for it. After reading it I bought a Tek (I think) and have been extremely pleased with it. Can take a water bladder. Has front zipper pocket which my muesli bars and car keys go into.

I had tried the Tek on in the shop and didn't like it. But after reading about it on the forum I checked it out again. I realised I had not adjusted it properly. This time I thought it was good. It is side zipped and buckled which I thought was awkward but after adjusting it, no problems.

Troppo is talking about the Ultra Trek. I have this too and it is pretty comfortable, the bladder is great and plenty of pockets for pliers, muesli bars etc. There are lots out there. Better off trying kayak stores than boating stores
