A piccy of a bloke I know and his first fish off of his kayak. Cant see his yak only the kill tank from it. Pretty bloody good effort for a first fish I reckon. Hopefully by next season I'll be fit enough to do the same trip. I've put it up without his permission hopefully he wont mind too much.
If you get to see the post Craig nice bit of work bloke.

Recognise the "kill tank" - a Debu kayak perhaps? Don't see too many of them, around these days - except maybe down at Palm Reef. Does a good job though.

Thats the one, weird looking thing apparently its an update of an old fibreglass design ski, but done in poly. Even has mounts for outriggers. Funny looking at the photo you put up as Craig's talking about changing over to alveys.

sorry to go off topic (nic mackeral by the way!), but does anyone know if these sort of sealed tanks are available commercially? One of those would be ideal for the rear tankwell of my new elite, as I'm gonna need a big tank like that to fit all the metre long kingies, 20lb jewfish and 6lb snapper in it

i know some guys use a insulated bag, but I havent seen these sealed pods before. anyone know where I might find one?

Mate, I think they are an option on this yak and peppertown in brisbane sells the yaks as does (I think?) the camping store at nerang on the g coast (nerang disposals?). I think there is a brochure at home still I'll take a look.

Hi Dave
If it is these exact same red ones you want, I know the bloke who made them - and can give you his details. Actually he does not make them any more - more demand for water tanks right now. However, he might still have some in stock. He normally drilled holes in them to let the water out (for going through the surf, but he might still have some undrilled ones. PM me, if you would like his details.

It was really an update of the very early plywood designs that used to go off the Gold Coast - here is the outrigger version. The kayak was not a great commercial success - but I enjoyed mine and had fun at Palm Reef - great for the surf. There are probably still a few around there.

Oh my goodness, not those pictures on Tony's web site again (Debu review above)! When I still used to wear that dorky hat! My children eventually got me to ditch it - along with the much too snugly fitting lycra top!

Apparently with the outriggers on you can stand on the bugger and cast slugs to your hearts content. If thats the case and given the yaks low profile I reckon more than a couple of boaties out around Palm might mistakingly think the second comings arrived just in time for the mackeral season.
