How about we set up a database of paddling locations?

Perhaps in this format (but not limited to);
Location; (Suburb / Town)
Map reference; ???/
Boat Ramp; Yes/No
Facilites; Toilets/Shops/??
Bank; Sand/Mud/Gravel
Water; Fresh/Tidal
Species Caught;??
Notes;

That way we can have a glance and do a spur of the moment outing, armed with a little bit of knowledge of where we are heading to.

There is a little booklet out in Brisbane called 'Places To Paddle'. It's an okay publication, but with all of our memebers contributing, I think we could build a bigger and better database that only members can use/contribute.

Perhaps even publish it one day?

I think the idea has meritt.

Many of us go on vacation to new spots with no real idea of what to expect. we could post things as mentioned before but also useful tips on accommodation, what else is available for the rest of the family while we are out doing our thing.

A few pointers on fish species & how to get them as well as potential hazards might be a good idea. Even some suggestions on places to stay might help. also lots of piccies
