Just wondering whether to put outrigger kit on yak to avoid a bath and associated dramas when coming into beach in light surf.
Anyone using, or used these, and how did the go, are they beneficial ???
My PA and me are not best in surf, and I have been paddling in backwards when there was a risk previously :)
Cheers,
Rod

They'd be more likely to trip you over and the sidekicks are built to break before they damage the hull from the weight of it coming down on one. I hear backwards reentries as you're doing are a perfectly valid method and at least you have a lot of below-deck storage for when you get rolled.

I'd say try & avoid surf landings in a PA altogether....

Thanks for the opinions guys.
I won't be buying the outriggers.
Yes, I do avoid surf in my PA, but sometimes it's unavoidable :)
I will continue with my "backward" landings if needed :D
Thanks again, I appreciate the help.
Best regards,
Rod
