I can also swap the hatches (back to front) if I want a bit more light in the cockpit.
Customizing is looking good occy and will enjoy seeing pics of the finished Cavendish.

Suspect the light at front may give you night blindness mate, and suspect a headlamp is better for rigging and hopefully landing of fish but as easy to sit side saddle when rigging and have the rear positioned light shining in your lap

Paul, maaaaate, [ as our mutual friend would say], thats one cool yak , love it , hmmmm , few questions buddy , do you use that grab rail to push against with your feet while paddling or is it solely for rod holders and fish finder,? have you moved your seat back up towards the front to get better foot contact with the front of the cockpit,? how did you get your hands into the hull to hold the nuts to secure the grab bar?, and that long seat pad looks sensational to a man with a crook back , how long is it and what brand and where did you get it?, i think thats sufficient questions for now your honour , the witness may step down,  OCCY, shes a BEAUTY

Hey Occy, Ive been out in some rough conditions and in a following seas situation a rudder is almost a must have i feel. It handles completely different to the espri in that situation( i think the espri was slightly better there)

As for the motor i think a set up (pictured) would be the way to go, it's from taxas yak or somewhere like that i think.
Just use the plate for the rudder as the mount , as long as it's got a support down the back it should be ok.
Or dispose of the rudder mount totally and bolt some "C" channel to the rear to make the pivot point as the prowler has standard.

Then run a flexi connection as viking do to the cokpit from the handle to throttle the beast.
