It may not be bass, but this is a picture of one of the guys I work with. He's just returned from a job we have going in Canada - guess what he's been up to. Not bad for a once in a blue moon fisher - and that, apparently, is only a baby. For those unsure - it's a sturgeon (as in caviar)

Nice looking fish mate. Given the size of the tail, they look like they would fight alright on light tackle. Did he get it on that big overhead outfit visible in the picture? I didn't realise they were available in Canada but have heard that the populations of them in some parts of Europe are struggling from pollution and over fishing.

Don't know whether or not he got it on the overhead Scott. When I last spoke to Dave (on the right), he said they hadn't gone out to target sturgeon, so this was a by catch. He also said the others regularly go on sturgeon trips so there must be a good population of them up there. Canada has also some pretty pristine waters. They'd gone salmon fishing - apparently 30-40lb models are a norm up there. Makes me go weak at the knees. Can you imagine how heavy one of those would be - look how fast the water is around them.
