While the Sydney slickers expanded in numbers, and some could resist the good weather and went for a swim :lol: , and the Foster Lakers …..Renewed their vows of catch and release , or said by others, release the fish even before the fish has been hooked……the Newcastle Nights had to brave the sea’s and row alone, and in unfamiliar waters …..alone. the only company is the boat’y every hour or sow, or the two schools of dolphins that passed, or the hundreds of 5cm strip’s that hovered at 15-20m, parranering the bait and hooks, or the school of undersize flathead……..and eventually the school of salmon ….on their way to Foster.

Saturday was a long day out 6-2….. :lol:

While measuring, do you measure from the fork or the tip of the tail? :?:

Some fine looking *****'s Louis. You measure to the tip unless they're bream or bass and you're in a comp. Doesn't matter, I'd be happy with one of those. What did the damage?

Definitely some good fishing there. Lures or bait?

Salmon are ok if eaten fresh but must be bled on capture. They don't keep at all. Many smoke them or use them in fish cakes. The red flesh near the skin is quite robust.

They make good mako baits
