Hi All

new to the forum, and I havent even got my Kayak yet! but I am a mad keen fisherman and have placed an order for a q-kayak escapade. I have also left a post in the trips section as i am seeking info on Brogo damn. I will also be very keen to learn about sounders and fish rod holders and instalation at some stage. Any other local Canberra guys, i will be heading out trolling the local lakes most of Summer looking for Cod! any tips?

Cheers
Ashley

( I just joined last week :p )

Tell us about yourself, id love to chat more :)
Not too much to tell, hehehe, love my fishing and really cannot wait until I hit the water! Will spend allot of time around the local lakes for cod but hope to catch yellow belly and redfin too! at the end of the day any fish is a good fish, I tend to throw them back as the wife doesn't like fish, so might keep one but very rarely......Head down to the coast a fair bit, Mourya Airport, love to camp and fish, also Eucumbine and Whyangla damn. I will PM you when I get the yak set up and ready, go hunt some cod?

Hey Poddy, thanks mate, I have been trying for a year off the bank with no luck, always wanted a yak and now I finally have one coming in the mail! as soon as I get a cod (my chances have to be pretty high from a yak) I will be telling everybody all about it, even if it's 20cm long hahahaha..............

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. G'day Ashley,

The q-kayak looks like an interesting beast. Are you ordering from the guys out at wet-spot in fyshwick, or one of the other couple of canberra retailers? If it's wet-spot, and you don't want to do a bit of DIY work, the guys out there will fit rod-holders for you in-shop.
Hey Red

Yeah that kayak seems to suit my needs, for fishing and camping, very stable and can even handle waves and white water (dont know if I can though) Have posted the pic of it, I will set mine up pretty much the same. I have been to wetspot, but am not buying from there, a few hundred cheeper ordering online.......besides, wetspot has allot of my money already as I am also a keen windsurfer! anyway, will be on touch when I get it!
