Folks I'm heading off to bli bli barra park for a 4.00 am kick off on Sunday morning. I'm taking placcies and hb's but apparently livies are the go. Is there a good spot close by for throwing a cast net????
Left the question a bit late, sorry.

Hey Shayned, I'd try around the bli bli bridge, or from the little jetty on the western side of the bridge, other than that maybe walk along the edge of the park.

If I'm after live bait in that area, there's a bank on the north side of the oyster lease across the river from the park, but you need a yak or boat to get there.

Good Luck, Hope you catch yourself a Barra

Steve, Much appreciated. I'm taking the camera so the jinx should kick in nicely.

I prefer a bait jig to a cast net any day.

I use a #6 or #8 hook, often with tiny pieces of squid - works a treat. I always have a dozen or so jigs at home and at least on in the seat pocket in my yak.
