Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

How does the Viking pedalling system compare to the hobies? I'm thinking about buying a predator just not sure wether it will be too big.
They are a nice looking yak though.

Get some 40mm PVC pipe and extend it upwards a little. Fits in beautifully. I have done this on Dodge's advise but I am yet to trial it. About 200mm of pipe will do the trick. Check out Dodge's espri in the rigged kayaks section.

Thanks Occy :D
I was was trying to come up with a way of put some short of measuring tape on the yak and keep up with the idea of eveything beinng totaly removable.

Its a tailors measuring tape with blind cord at one end and bungie cord the other to take up the slack.

Rick, I know you like the removable idea, but I have one of my State's Fishcare Ruler Stickers on my Yak they produce them as 750mm Ruler Sticker with the size regulations of the major species on them. (Ihave cut mine down to 500 mm)

I am sure after checking on a couple of different states websites that they make them for all states. If your state doesn't have them I would be happy to mail you one of the Tassie ones, you might just have to adjust some of the sizes for some species. It's about 75mm wide and 750mm long ans has a white background with blue and black writing.

The offer is open to anyone who wants one.

NSW Fisheries produces such stickers - 90cm, with pics, lengths and bag limits of all regulated species. I have put them on my paddle shafts. Out of the way, no problem sticking and always available. Only problem is I creased them a little when wrapping around the shaft but the measuring edge went on fist so was unaffected. They are wearing so won't last indefinitely.
