Just banged this up from some stuff found in the shed.
I could not get the transducer to read properley on the inside so I made this bracket that swings up with the rudder for transport.

See what I can do when I get the time. Hoping to do a few more home made mod's yet and post a full review in rigged yak's section, so stay tuned.

Almost any one can do similar by attacing a door hinge to the gunwall of the yak. Then it's just a matter of bolting a L shaped bracket to that with a length of PVC electrical condute screwed to it leading to the transducer.

You will benifit from better readings, temp readings, and If fitted in the right position the transducer will kick up without damage if you hit a submerged object.
Plus it will swing out of the way for transport and storage.
++++++ all the way
And it will put an end to stuffin aroun with all that goop. ++++++ :D

Yes from your pic it is the factory rudder system from Viking on my yack.
Just added the home made transducer bracket to it as there is not enough room for it around the rudder.
