After Outwiththebro arrived at a very windy 3.30am it was off to Long reef. We arrived at our location right on 4.45 and it was evident that we would not removing any piscatorial creatures from the reef today. A very stiff s/se gale was doing it's best to hit the 20 knot mark and I would have to say it wasn't far off. I had a plan B just incase we got blown out so it was off to Middle Harbour. We put in at the Spit next to Sydney Kayaks a little beach a few feet from the car park made launching easy. We trolled lures up to Middle Head into a stiff breeze which had Outwiththebro feeling a little tender around the shoulders at this point I decided I better start to paddle as well :p We had no luck so we allowed the now s/easter to blow us back to the Spit and dragged a few baits in hope for some Flatties, Iused the same Sluggo but had a coloured Jig as a weight skipping along the bottom in 5 mtrs of water, no luck there either  .We anchored just off the bridge in around 21 mtrs of water and berleyed for zip. Oh yeh Alan got a 22cm Pinky that was that . By 10.30 we were off the water. Back to work tomorrow for 3 weeks then I got 2 weeks holidays again
I trolled a 4" Sluggo and Al trolled a sx40 in Yellow We drifted with pillie tails. Windy, rain and cold love it.

mate, you sure know how to pick the crappy yakking days. I recall that you did a trip with Peril off Long Reef a few months ago and it was also pi##ing down with rain was it not?

better luck next time...hope you manage to score some good conditions during your upcoming 2 week break

cheers

With wind like that, it is a wonder you were not blown of ya yak. Good work staying on. Very decent of you not to catch any fish, I am sure they wouldn't have wanted to be caught on such a lousy day like that. Come back when the weather is fine.

C'mon Russ. What's up with you? Couldn't you get anyone to drive the car to Palm Beach for the pickup?

Crap day and discretion is the better part of valour. At least you didn't do Middle Harbour's reputation as a tough fishery any harm
