Caught up with SunHobie, Deuce and a couple of other guys for a bit of evening Bass fishing on Lake Macdonald, 10 minutes inland from Noosa, last night just on dusk.
There was no moon and there had been a bit of rain overnight and early yesterday morning. Conditions were beautiful as we all met up in the middle of the lake on our Hobies. Of the five of us, 3 were on Outbacks and two on Sports.
As soon as the sun went down the fish started feeding. Soft plastics and Jackal's were the go. I was lucky enough to hook up to a couple of good sized Bass, one 44cm and the other 47cm, which put up a hell of a fight.
Stayed out till 8:00 and thanks to the pedal driven Hobies arrived back at the cars bone dry.
A great nights fishing.

Sounds like a great way to spend an evening mate.

Yeah, I reckon 47 cm of bass is huge. Good work Outerlimit.

Night time and no moon. Hard to navigate?

Hi Darren, it's great to see you are making good use of your Hobie.

"and thanks to the pedal driven Hobies arrived back at the cars bone dry. " I rely on the paddle drips to keep me cool here in Melbourne during winter. :p

There is no way I'm going for a peddle in a Hobie. Mrs Hoit would shoot me if I bought another kayak.

Regards
Grant

G'day Darren, Great fish mate. Well done.

BTW where is lake Mcdonald?
Mick, You mean to say you have never been to Lake Macdonald?
Its very nice, and can be quite productive, toilets and BBQ at the launch site, easy to get to, no stink boats, and is alway about 99% full. What more can you ask for?

Its near Cooroy, which is just off the highway, and west of Noosa.

The Qld Mecca for all things Hobie is across the road at Sunstate Hobie.

Cheers,
Jake
