He doesn't make mention of any lures.

He really is an idiot

I wish him well, it's something different and definiatly a challenge. If we fail to challenge the unknown we cease to live life the way it's meant to be lived.

Thats why I continue to challenge my fishing prowess.

If I stop I will never really know just how lousy my angling ability really is :p

Theres another couple of nutters leaving from Sydney & paddling to the bay of Auckland sometime this summer.Apparently these two crossed Bass Strait in 6 days in April this year and have both paddled the full length of the Murray River.

Personally I reckon these guys are pioneering legends. I wish that I had the skills to attempt such a trip. Oh well I guess I will have to be content in having a lash at the "07" AKFF Bass Straight crossing in fishing SOTs if it ends up still happening.

Ah, good on him.

The thing that always gets me with these things is when I start thinking about toilet & sleeping arrangements. There is a definate preferred position for both, neither of which seem to spring to mind when I think of a kayak.

I hope he's got some islands to stop off at on the way through.

Sorry guys,

Just woke up, after falling asleep in front of computer, and I was dreaming that a guy called Russ, was paddling to New Zealand, trolling all the way, as you do.... and he hooked up to one of those normoussnappertunaroids, and got towed back to Oz  Well at least he caught it, dunno if it was still fresh enough to cook when he got it on board, but it was only a dream

Anyhow good luck to the fit guy who is going to do it. I have to concede, it is somewhat beyond my endurance. I would probably end up in Omsk instead of Auckland.

Cheers all Andybear

Hey Salty dog
Hadn't thought about the toilet business till you mentioned it. I wonder if he has a roll holder for the paper? And more important will he have a book to read during the toilet experience?

Brave? You want to know what brave is!

Walking into a pub (The British Hotel) in Christchurch a week after the "underarm bowling incident" and asking for a "coupla beers mate".

(Actually it was pretty stupid.... )

Somehow I made it out of there to tell the tale but bloody hell those Mauris were big.

Anyhoo....is this yakker bloke a kiwi going home or does he just need a new compass?

Cheers,
Jake
