The transducer has this little spinning wheel for the speed, but if I shove it in a big dob of silicone or similar it all might go into the transducer and bugger it. Anyone fitted one of these type before, does it matter? The transducer on my old tinnie was an oval sealed unit. I wasnt looking at doing the PVC pipe install witht he vaseline but maybe that would suit the transducer better.

More so what I am worried about is if I want to take it out and sell it if the wheel section is full of silicone it would be near impossible to get it all out.

The sounder is a Navman 4150sx.

Your thoughts?

Take the wheel off. What are the chances you will sell it anyway. Silicon usually peels off stuff ok it you really had to.
