Being a public servant, who is not particulary busy at the moment during the days, and my Friday nights normally consist of trying to kill people playing xbox online.........yet here I am again! I find I am constantly logged on here most of the day, if I am not, then I am not to far away!

I am obsessed with this sport now! thanks guys! and I mean that in a good way!

Just thought I would share that :)

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Funny you say that, when I launched last night at Molonglo and few people came up and wondered what I was doing. "what? fish from a kayak?" they were pretty interested in it all, but being pretty new myself to this sport I was unable to really enlighted them, when they asked "how many fish have you caught" I was a bit embarrassed by saying two redfin.....and then the size......

But yeah, I stumbled onto this site some time ago and said to myslef "one day" in fact from memory my first post was "how to get a cheap kayak" my budget at the time was $500.....my how times change.

The term 'addiction' is usually used in a negative sense of things which are bad for ya. On the contrary, yak fishing and yak fishing forumising is perfectly healthy and increases one's personal capacity to cope with this insane world. Never forget that to make a post on the yak fishing forum, one must be able to think and type, both of which use calories and therefore good for one's health. . . . Ah, there are some exceptions to the statement about "must be able to think and type" given I don't do much of the former.

But even if a little eccentric, yak fishing is a wonderful pastime and I have never felt better and healthier . . . . (sorry, must go, the guards are doing their rounds and if they see me away from my padded cell, they will take away my teddy bear. catch ya later!)

Hi A75, you took the words out of my mouth ( or keyboard fingers at least ) I read much more than i post but found myself tonight looking in the site suggestions pages for advice re site addiction. I check another forum in regard to my profession regularly also and they have a section for " are you addicted to ........ " I check at lunch, before work, most nights and any other spare moment. Its clear that others do to as posts pop up pretty quickly through the day/night. Some literature came home from my sons school a couple of weeks ago about general internet addiction, i read it and found myself laughing my head off with the irony of it all " more help can be found at http://www......."        I'm yet to catch something off the yak yet. Was on the noosa river last sunday and when my daughter gave me the boat back ( eh ....hem its Dads toy you know ) the interest from the passing parade was incredible - same as you though- bit embarresed having to admit that i've got this sleek plastic machine with rodholders etc and then have to say " well, I havn't caught anything yet but........" Cheers mate

I agree with troppo addiction has a negective conatation. So i think it only applies to buying fishing lures. :D
Hey if yaking is so good for you I wonder if hcf will pay for my yak for me, they could only say no 8)

I hope work doesn't have a timer on thier internet tracking cause the amount of time in on this site I'll only get paid for 1/2 a year.
Cheers Dave
