Is this the smallest estuary cod ever caught on a lure? I stopped beside a small snag in the middle of a sandy area of the Noosa River and dropped a 1/8 oz Berkely Gulp jig down next to the snag to be instantly nailed by this tiny beastie. I let him have a swim around in my foot well for a while then put him back for a couple of years.

Another species for the yak!

isn't it amazing how some small fish will take big lures or baits?

I've found that baby flathead are the best at it - some of them are actually smaller than the live nippers I catch them on.

Chopper tailor are brave little buggers too - sometimes hitting lures that are as long or longer than them!
