Hey guys

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and kitting out whichever kayak I buy. I have been reading your website for a few months now but never joined because I don't have a kayak. Four of my friends do though and I figure I am missing out on too many guy trips without having one. I aready have a 10ft tinnie with a 3.3hp on it and love fishing out of that. Have been fishing my whole life especially when I was younger growing up in Mackay, every day after school was either spent fishing or playing soccer.

Three of my mates have Wavedance Calypso's (one is Squidgie off this website) and another has a Viking Nemo. I am thinking about getting a Viking Nemo as a starter and I can't wait to get one and get it kitted out for fishing. I like making and inventing things. I had a 4.5mtr Swiftcraft that was just the bare hull when I got it. Fitted false floor and casting deck and centre console before taking it out once and deciding it was too hard to launch on my own. Hence the reason I have a 10footer now. So I think a kayak will suit me down to a tee.

Sites like this are great I am also a member of three other fishing sites and have gained and given a lot of information over the years so hopefully I can contribute here.

See you on the water.

Wayne you are going to love it here, pretty soon you to will be scouring the streets looking for old pram wheels, ab rollers and any other usefull looking material to satisfy your curiosity :?

Good luck in the quest in finding the perfect yak and customising to suit your needs, this is half the fun.

Milt,

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I think I am going to like it here. My work rate at work has dropped dramatically lately. So many posts to read and take notes on.

Occy - she knows this is why I have bought it. Already have a weekend trip planned with the boys. Three glorious days without her and my 15 month old girl. I probably will miss my little girl though, the wife - not so much.

Well at least this has lasted longer than my four wheel driving phase, and then there was my dirt bike riding phase, and then there was my golfing phase........

I reckon we should do this to a long time member once a week, your first post on forums always sounds stupid after a while...

Well done mate. By the way make sure you keep the guy trip thing quiet, don't want the ladies to get wind of the fun we are havin here.
Bet one thing ya not still doing is the guy trip thing.
Actually yes we are Paul. We either go to Peel in the yaks or go hiking on Moreton Island. We were supposed to squeeze in a trip in May but it got too hard trying to organize everyone, someones having another baby, another is getting a house built. Looks like it will be in September now.
