Onya Jay. Thats my old stamping grounds as I use to live at Rouse Hill near Windsor and mainly fished the terraces (just downstream from Nth Richmond bridge) to the Gorge at Penrith. Some top bass water mate.

hey i got back today and we decided to o up the grose river, its really shallow at the moment. we caught about 30 bass between the 2 of us they were mostly small ones which is good to see because it means there breeding well. the biggest was 34cm and the smallest 6cm but most of them were around 20cm. i dont hav any photos sorry. i caught most of them on bett spins with atomis grubs and also we cught heeps on white spinnerbaits.

Jay, did you get many from around the YMCA camp? The deep pool just downstream with the nice big rock going into deeper water was always a good place. The Grouse also has a small population of Macquaries which have come down from further upstream, always a bit of a blast to get a little mac.
Thanks for the report, it brings back fond memories of nights on teh grouse in cicada season

we got a couple from the rock ledge near ymca and theres this big pool ussually full of big bass futhur upstream but we couldnt get any not even a hit so we went in there and there was this huge carp bout a meter long :x :x :x i tryed to stab it in the water coz we could hook it with lures and we didnt hav bait.its sad to see how shallow it is coz u can see water marks on things where it used to be and its heeps below that. theres a creek in kurrajong village down the back of a park and we always catch maquarie perch in therewith spinner baits, its really hard to fish tho coz its so overgrown coz u canty even take a kayak down.
