For now it's finished... but who knows? ? ?
the espri has *5 flushmount rod holders
*viking seat with a detachable bag at the back
*deck bag ( to compensate for loss of forward storage from mounting the electronics on the forward hatch )
*lowrance X50 Ds fish finder
*garmin GPS 60
*" for now " an old shopping basket in the rear well to hold the tackle bag. ( subject to change )
Next on the list is a set of wheels.
The gunwhales have been cleared and a handle has been fitted to the center hatch...... Borrowed ideas from Dodge and The sounder is powered from an old cordless drill battery.Ideas for Placement of the electronics from Peter J's
earlier pics.

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

You did a great job on the espri Heno and I really like the clean cockpit gunwales, and I am also content with a carry basket in the rear well.

She would be an eye catcher on the water up your way

Bigbazoo,
The seat has 2 loop tags on the back that the pouch clips onto ...
It's designed to carry 2 drink containers with a small pouch between them but I use them to carry the lip grippers and the donger . Out of the way but still easy to reach when needed.
Red,
the sounder install is very simple. I like things this way.
The battery used is from an old cordless drill that sits in a container strapped to a scupper inside the hull and the cable is then run through a drilled hole just large enough to fit the plug on the head of the lead through the hatch. to prevent water entering the hull I picked up a "plastic cable cover..P/N 2474 W" from bias. This has been filled with sikalex. The ram mount was fitted to the center of the hatch with a small piece of alluminium used as a backing plate to support and spread the load.
When the sounder is not fitted I place a small plastic bag over the cable and use an elastic band to secure it to the ball of the mount, this keeps it
dry/ protected and out of the way.

Are the two front holders forward angled and the other one just straight? I have bought these but are yet to install as I am too lazy to cut them down and try some plastic welding. For the gunwhales did you just tie the end of the rope in a knot through the eyelet or did you loop it and get some sort of clamp from bias or somewhere.

She looks good mate.

Wayne having done something similar to mine here are my solutions.

You wont have to cut the holders to instal in the gunwale and the drain hole is just filled with silicone, I angled my front holders forward

The rope end is easy, for appearance I slid on a piece of heat shrink first, then pulled the tag end around of the saddle alongside the other rope and used a bag needle and twine/fishing line and sewed through both ropes half a dozen times, you could also just use half hitches if you want but the needle gives a better finish, then slide your shrink over both ropes and heat them until it shrinks and covers all the sewing

The two forward flushmounts are both vertical holders as I enjoy a feed of squid these are going to be used for a drop in squid light (yet to be designed ) . they are all Emro holders and will be using the next size down in pvc tubing to house the batteries/cable and extending to about a foot beneath the surface making the whole thing completely removable while the opposite one will hold the net. The holder closest to the seat is an angled one facing forward so I can place the rod for fish handling or just drifting and dreaming hands free. At present the deck lines are just tacked in place with mono. ( was actually going to shoot a PM to dodge to find out how his was done but this has now been answered ) :D
All 3 holders on the front have had about 1 inch cut from them and rewelded to suit the but on my rods..

Hi Heno
I like your set up. I have the same Yak, I am thinking of fitting a sounder, can you tell me where you got the bracket for it to fit
on the hatch. Have you set up an anchor for it.
Thanks
Gaz
