I phoned the secretary of the brisbane valley sailing club this afternoon to enquire about using their ramp at Hays Landing. They offer an associate membership specifically for people who don't wish to be involved in the sailing for $30 a year. Access to the ramp is by locked gate, the key requires a $30 security bond refundable at any time on return of the key.
I have just received an email from Dallas, the secretary, which has attached forms and agreements involved in the associate membership. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll forward the info to you.

I'm thinking about it.

Whats the facilities like there, do you know?

Is the ramp still in the water, lol, I want to take my electric powered stink boat over there?

Can one of us be a key holder and invite other yakkers?

I've heard the big bass live on that side of the lake so it maybe worth it.

cheers

Hey Sel,
I haven't been over there, so no idea what it's like, but they are still holding fornightly sailing meets so I asume they can launch trailer sailers. I have the feeling that as long as one member is present and all 'visitors' sign the member's book on the way in, it's all good.
Hay's Landing is a lot closer to Platypus cliffs and a bunch of other places that are the prefered bassing spots in the dam. A lot less paddling to get to the old river bed than Logan Inlet ramp anyway.
