I been playing with google earth over the last week or two. I have the free version and i was wondering can i map out disstances ive traveled?
i think this is a great tool and ive just started adding little marker where i been catching fish.

yes it has mate thanks a lot......i really wanted to know how far from my garden the davelow bridge is........because i time my self coming back on sat morning and with a head on wind it took me 45min. Google Earth worked the trip out to be 6Km.
WOW :shock: from my house to where i went fishing and back worked out to be a total of 23km.
so it took me 45min to paddle 6km and that was after i had all ready paddled 16.6km. That now give me a benchmark to beat.

Thanks Mate im still working on my paddling technquie and im using a stand paddle too......My tech is getting better but every now and then as i twist i pull my fum nail along the side of the yak and it hurts like a mofo and throw my rhythm off.

I wouldn't be pleased with that speed and distance if I were you. No, I would be totally raving excited about it. Head wind for 6km and 3/4 hr rates as 8 km/hr in difficult conditions: excellent I reckon. And after doing 16 km. Top effort. Just remind me to bring my outboard if I ever do a trip with you. Or a tow rope, I'll bring the water skis.
