I am heading up to Caloundra (Kings Beach) this Wednesday 06/09 for 5 days R&R - so looking forward to some time away and fishing in my yak... oh yeah and spending time with the family of course..........
Anyone got any good spots for fishing up that way?
G'day Squidgie, Welcome aboard mate. (love the handle too)
Mate, I haven't fished Caloundra in years. The bream should be on about now and a good safe launce is golden Beach. I used to catch a lot of bream straight accross from golden beach in my evil youth working the snags along Bribie island.. i have also heard good thngs about the canals there.
If the weather is calm, an off shore option might be the bommie straight out in front of Dickie beach. It is about a mile out and surrounded by pretty deep water. A very good spot for tailer and squire. Watch the swell though. Anything over a metre and the waves can break all over it. If you decide to give this one a go, I would launch at Moffat beach. It is more sheltered and not much further to paddle.
Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.
Thanks guys. I was also thnking about launching from Bulcock beach at the mouth of the Pumistone and maybe heading out to sea for a bit. Thought I might flick some plastics and troll some HB's and see if anything wanted to join me for brekky
