Here goes with my first trip report
I christened my Hobie Outback on Sunday morning finally. Put her in the water around 07.30 and managed to launch without too many problems, although it took me a minute or so to figure out that my rudder wasn't down  Also took a little time to get used to how to change direction, but after a minute or two I was happily pedalling out into the wide blue yonder. Being new to all this I didn't go too far offshore - mainly stayed on the sandy patches between the inshore reefs.
I even managed to catch a couple of good sized whiting and a few smaller specimens that were released to grow bigger
The really good news is that I didn't fall out of my YAK, or tip it, so I was stoked about that. All in all a good first dip for Barry Cuda and the deeper waters holding bigger fish are beckoning now
I still need to get things organised better on board and will work on that as time goes by. Here's a few pics of Barry Cuda's maiden voyage folks
