Hi Yak fishers,
Great site this, heaps of of info and wisdom (I think I hope).

Emmigrated here to the land of Velcro trousers about 4 years ago.

Always been a mad keen fisher even in pommy land. Thought about getting a boat and a mate saved me from the dark side and introduced me to the Wonderful Wolrld of Kayak Fishing.
Tupperware of choice is a Prowler Elite only a couple of weeks old. Before that, the trusty old Perception Swing.

cheers

Paul

Unfortunately, due to the change in ownership of this web site and the lack of response by the owners to my requests to remove my email address from all administrative-level notifications and functionality, I have decided to remove my posts on AKFF. Thank you for the great times, the fantastic learning experiences and the many many fish. If you are desperate for the old content of this particular post, it is available below base64 encoded and bzip2 compressed.

Welcome Paul a pretty part of NZ you live in, a mate's just brought a house there and is being posted there later as a flatfoot and has sent over many pics including yakking along Abel Tasman NP.

Does your slogan line refer to pretty sheep

Cheers mate,
Most of my fishing in the U.K was fresh water lakes, ponds and rivers for Carp, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach, Perch, Pike and sometimes Trout. Never could get the hang of the fly rod.

Done a little bit of surfcasting for Codling, Bass, Whiting. But the fisheries in the Engish Channel have been raped and pilliged so much. It was pretty much awaste of time.

So Yeah fiishing down under has defiately broadened my horizons. When my dad visits he can't believe the amount of fish about.

Welcome to the forum mate. How does the OK Elite compare against the Swing? I haven't yet paddled an Elite. Do you regret moving on the Swing for the Elite? We have a special offer to all new kiwi members. You have a one in 10 chance of winning a set of Velcro gloves. These utilise quality Velcro guaranteed to grip to the fleece of a ewe in all conditions.

Catch ya Scott

Only a 1 in 10 chance....

Not regreting the move to the Elite so far. I've only had a couple of chaces to get out fishing on it. It does feel a little quicker than the swing and the flared bow deflects water to the sides when going through a bit of choppy stuff. Where as in the swing it just came up over the front. I really like the rear storage being so close as well.

I never bother with a wet suit Peril. Water proof paddle pants are the way forward mate. I've been out in the swing for 4-5 hours sitting in a puddle for most of it, came in took 'em off and the undies are still bone dry.

Spend the colder months chasing Guarnard, Blue Cod and Terakhi, Warmer months Snapper, Ky and hopefully this year my 1st Kingfish.
